Van Lanschot Kempen secures fiduciary management mandate for Holcim Group pension plans
Amsterdam/London, 28 January 2026
Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management UK (“Van Lanschot Kempen”) announces its appointment by the Trustee of the Lafarge UK Pension Plan and the Aggregate Industries Pension Plan as their new fiduciary manager. Both plans are sponsored by companies within the Holcim Group and have total assets of approximately £2.5 billion.
The mandate underscores the firm’s reputation as a trusted partner, providing bespoke and innovative investment solutions to pension schemes in the UK. The competitive selection process was led by XPS.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Holcim Group is a global leader in building materials and solutions, operating in over 45 countries including the UK, where it operates more than 200 sites and has 4,000 colleagues. Holcim Group is a leading partner within the sustainable construction sector, creating value across the built environment from infrastructure and industrial projects to residential and commercial buildings. The pension plans support retired staff and have over 20,000 members in total.
The agreement was signed in October 2025, and Van Lanschot Kempen took over the fiduciary management of the assets in the fourth quarter of 2025. Since then, the team has collaborated with the Trustee to ensure smooth onboarding.
Under the arrangement, Van Lanschot Kempen delivers a fully bespoke fiduciary management service in close collaboration with the plans’ Trustee and other advisors. The investment strategy is tailored to each Plan and in particular the management of a significant portfolio of private markets assets.
Aligned with the Holcim Group’s focus with putting sustainability at the core of its strategy, Van Lanschot Kempen implements Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations throughout the process.
