Investment Management

Fiduciary Management (UK)

Specialist fiduciary management targeting better outcomes for scheme members, trustee boards and other key stakeholders

We are specialists in fiduciary management. We work with UK pension scheme trustees and sponsoring employers to help them execute their long-term strategies efficiently and target better outcomes for their scheme members.

Our size is an asset. We have sufficient scale and heritage to bring to our clients the benefits of scale, expertise and experience across multiple market cycles, yet we are small enough to adopt an entrepreneurial “owner” mindset in being agile and responsive in our investment stewardship and client service. Our success and continuing growth together enable us to continue re-investing in our resources and be there for the long haul with our clients, who range from smaller schemes to some of the world’s most substantial pension scheme investors.

Working and performing in this way, we seek to achieve better outcomes for scheme members day-to-day through:

  • diligently unpacking pension scheme strategic objectives and constructing bespoke portfolios to deliver against them;
  • effective, conviction-based investing designed to avoid over-engineering and unnecessary costs; and
  • building and maintaining trust and transparency through pro-active client service, transparent reporting and dependable advice.
We apply the same collaborative approach to working internally as we do when we work with our clients. Drawing on our European fiduciary management businesses, we share and leverage insights, experience and expertise from two of the deepest pension scheme markets in Europe – the UK and the Netherlands – working with some of the world’s leading pension schemes.

Risky risks

In today's world, risks seem to be everywhere. We focus on several possible global risk events and analyse their impact on DB pension schemes if they were to occur. Our analysis emphasises the importance of considering individual scheme situations and tailoring risk management approaches accordingly. While certain major market risks may not be significant for some schemes, less obvious events can present significant risks. You can download our latest research paper, "Risky Risks," where we explore this subject in detail.
