Van Lanschot Kempen acted as Sole Financial Adviser to Vesteda on the establishment of a €400 million impact venture for ABP (via APG)

Vesteda and ABP have announced the launch of a new impact venture under the name Affordable Living Venture (ALV).
ALV will focus on affordable mid-rental housing in the Netherlands, with an initial capital commitment of €400 million. The investment in ALV forms part of ABP’s Dutch residential mandate, managed by APG.
The partnership aims to realise more than 1,100 rental homes in the coming years, at least half of which will consist of affordable homes within the mid-rental segment. ALV will focus on new build developments in urban areas with the highest pressure on the housing market. The first investment decisions are expected in the first half of 2026.
Van Lanschot Kempen acted as Sole Financial Adviser to Vesteda, advising the company on the structuring and negotiation of the terms of the venture.

Vesteda is a residential investor and landlord focused on sustainable and affordable homes in the mid-rental segment. Vesteda invests capital on behalf of institutional investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies. Its portfolio comprises approximately 28,000 residential units, primarily located in economically strong areas and major urban regions in the Netherlands.

Over the past five years, Van Lanschot Kempen has advised on more than 25 living real estate transactions with an aggregate volume of approximately €5 billion.
Since 2015, Van Lanschot Kempen has advised on well over €3.5 billion in transactions for Vesteda, including approximately €1.2 billion in primary and secondary equity raises, as well as the €1.5 billion acquisition of the former Delta Lloyd portfolio.
