Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management is the investment engine of Van Lanschot Kempen, the Netherlands’ oldest independent financial institution. We focus on delivering strong investment returns for our clients through high-conviction, active investment strategies and expert fiduciary advice from offices in Amsterdam, London and Paris.

Our story began in 1991, when Kempen Capital Management was established as part of merchant bank Kempen & Co. A defining step followed in 2007, when Van Lanschot acquired Kempen & Co, setting the stage for a rebranding in 2017 and the expansion of the investment management division.

Moving forward with purpose since 1737

In recent decades, we have grown organically and through strategic acquisitions, always ensuring our clients and our way of working drive our expansion. From our origins in 1737 to the present day, our timeline reflects the key moments that have shaped us.

Today Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management has over €128 billion (as at 31 December 2025) of specialised and diversified AuM, across investment strategies, fiduciary management and wealth solutions for private banking clients. We have a solid base of internal and external clients and it is our ambition to grow as a fiduciary manager and an active investment boutique with a select number of high-performing strategies, by daring to be distinctive.

There’s a saying in Dutch, Kom verder, it means many things and it’s our business philosophy. It captures the way we work with clients but also the way we steer our investee companies to deliver shareholder value through active engagement.
